STEP 33 OF 67 · YOU ARE THE CHARACTER ARTIST
Build other species
Humanoid species come from Character Creator morphs, ActorMixer blends and Blender sculpting, so they keep the shared skeleton and animations. Non-humanoid creatures are sculpted and rigged separately.
How to do it
- Make each humanoid species from morphs and ActorMixer blends.
- Sculpt ears, horns or skin patterns in Blender.
- Sculpt and rig non-humanoid creatures separately.
- AI 3D generators give a first model, which still needs retopology and rigging.
How AI speeds this up
Duke and Meshy can generate a first model of a creature from a concept; you clean it up.
Example from a sample game
Ashfall: the Veyl, from human morphs plus sculpted horns and ash-grey skin.
